Frequently Asked Questions

What does the term “bleed” refer to, and how important is it?

An item is said to bleed if it extended to the edge of the page. The important part is that the image or colour element must actually extend 1/8" (0.125") beyond the edge for it to be of practical purpose. If the bleeds are not pulled beyond the edge, trimming of the job becomes very difficult, and you risk a white edge showing if the trimming is the least bit off.
